Andrew Chesworth: Animator

Postby Smashmatt » Sun Jun 17, 2012 4:28 am

So I saw this angry random about Andrew Dobson, aka TomPreston, a cartoonist on deviantART among other places:

The video mentioned this one guy, Andrew Chesworth, attending the same animation department as he did and showed an image of his website. Out of curiosity, I Googled his name and went to his website and watched his demo reel:

HO-LY CRAP! This guy is REALLY good! And he's working for Disney! He's working on Wreck-It Ralph, that's awesome! Here's his YouTube channel:

Here are a couple of personal favorites of mine...

Yeah, just thought I'd share that with all of you...

First short film was really nice. Second and fourth films were okay. Third film was terrible and I feel a bit stupider after watching it.

The third film was probably my favorite. But that's the unfortunate danger of substance abuse.

Although you have to remember, this guy works for Disney, which makes things primarily for children.

But that's like it's insulting the intelligence of children. The voices they make makes me feel it's for very very young kids but then it's like it has a quasi dark ending and...I just don't get it.

I think that was made BEFORE he worked for Disney, plus even if he did made it after he joined Disney, it doesn't seem very... Disney-esque. Seems more like something you'd see on the current Cartoon Network.
