Lets face it; there are endless things we want to see from Nintendo. It varies from fan to fan, but there are some things true, die-hard fans like myself want to see from Nintendo. I'm just going to list and explain 4 things that I really want to see from Nintendo; things I want to see more then any other. These are just my own opinions on what I want to see, so if you disagree, that's your own problem. Right, so lets get rolling.

1. A revival of old franchises.

Remember Kid Icarus? Wouldn't you like to see another Kid Icarus game? I know I would. Word it, third party developer, Factor 5, is working on a Kid Icarus game for the Wii, which is cool. But aside from that, there are several other old games I'd like to see; like the Ice Climbers for example. I know they only appeared in an arcade-styled game where you just keep climbing the mountain and get a high score, but I've seen ideas and concepts for a new Ice Climber game (not real, of course, but pretty interesting ideas all the same). There are other games I'd like to see a follow-up for, like Mole Mania, Gumshoe, Nazo no Murasamejō (Mystery of Murasame Castle), you know, games you've never heard of. Oh, and Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, as well, there have been MANY fans of that game who'd love to see a sequel to that game (and Paper Mario doesn't count). This is probably because I'm a guy who loves obscurity, but I'm sure there are other fans out there who, like me, would love to see these games again.

2. Old characters making a return to mainstream games.

Come on, who DOESN'T want to see the Koopalings again? They were awesome! Bowser Jr. is all right, but I don’t like Nintendo just sticking with him and forgetting about the Koopalings. Their last appearance was in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, and while there were sprites found in Super Princess Peach, the didn't make an appearance in the final version. Why not bring them back? It's not just them, though, what about Mouser? He was cool, wasn't he? He was a main, recurring character in the TV series. And what about Wart and Tatanga? Next to Bowser and Wario, they are the ONLY non-RPG main villains/final bosses in the entire Mario series. Branching out a little, I'd also like to see Swanky Kong from the Donkey Kong Country series make another appearance. He's been said to be the flashy entrepreneur brother of Donkey Kong himself, and he seems like an awesome character! He made a brief cameo appearance in Mario Superstar Baseball, on Donkey Kong's field, but other then that, nothing. Other characters I'd like to see include Ralph from The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, Captain Syrup from the Wario Land series, Sylux from Metroid Prime: Hunters, as well as Foreman Spike and Donkey Kong Jr. from Wrecking Crew and the Donkey Kong series, respectively. Who knows, maybe Nintendo will surprise us.

3. New, creative franchises.

While reviving old franchises is a great idea, in my opinion, Nintendo also needs to kick themselves in the side and get back to creating some new games as well. For the most part, Nintendo mostly just makes the same games over and over again, which might be alright to some people, but it just gets really annoying after a while. Oh sure, we've seen a few new games from Nintendo, namely Pikmin and Drill Dozer, as well as the Golden Sun series and Densetsu no Stafy series, the latter of which so far has only been released in Japan. Unfortunately, most of these games are extremely overshadowed by the more popular franchises, namely Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Pokémon, etc., so it makes it hard to find out what new stuff Nintendo is coming out with. So it's not to say Nintendo isn't TRYING to make some new things, they're just focusing more on their mainstream franchises rather then thinking of anything new. I'm not TOO mad about this, but it wouldn't hurt them to think of something new and innovative.

Finally, and most importantly…

4. Release EarthBound for the Wii's Virtual Console!

No, seriously, even if they decide NOT to release MOTHER 3 outside of Japan, which seems very likely at this point, there is NO reason why they shouldn't release EarthBound for the Virtual Console. I mean, look at all those other crappy games they've got there that no one's ever even heard of: Spelunker, Bases Loaded, Metal Marines, Cruis'n USA, and I swear the list just goes on from there. Is anyone actually buying these games? Seriously, how many of you bought The King of Fighters '94? Now, think about this: there is a HUGE EarthBound fanbase out there that would immediately flock to any official EarthBound release; there have been petitions and numerous e-mails to Nintendo of America regarding this; there are fans of Super Smash Bros. who want to know the origins of Ness; EarthBound is the number 1 most wanted game for the Virtual Console as told by Nintendo Power (even its prequel, MOTHER is number 4 on the list, right above The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask)! From a financial standpoint, it'd be stupid NOT to release EarthBound for the Virtual Console. If they're doing this just to build hype and make a bigger buck, that I can understand, but if their doing this just to taunt us, then GET YOUR HEADS OUT OF YOUR BUTTS, YOU IDIOTIC MONGRELS!

Sorry about that, I got a little carried away. Anyway, EarthBound is a cult favorite game that didn't do so well in America, so perhaps that's why they aren't releasing that game for the Virtual Console, but really, if they can release all those other no-name video games repeatedly, then I really don't see why they can't release that game. And it's not like they have copyrights to worry about like with Square-Enix's Super Mario RPG or Rare's Banjo-Kazooie, this is their own game! It makes no logical sense for them NOT to release the game! Really now, what could they be thinking?!

…So, that's about all I have to say on these matters. I might have more to say later on, and might go into greater detail about them, but for now, I'll leave you to read, re-read, and think about what I said. For now, I take my leave.

They have plenty of new franchises, it's just people aren't buying them like they used to. Cool though.

Well, it IS pretty out of date... And I don't feel like revising it anytime soon.
